The Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ Daily Prayers (8)

Daily prayers of The Prophet Muhammad (pubh) before going to sleep

When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) went to bed, he used to say the following prayer:”

‘‘O God! I have submitted myself to You, placed my face before You, entrusted my affairs to You, and sought refuge in You. There is no refuge or escape from You except with You. O God! I believe in the Book You have revealed and in the Prophet You have sent.’

‘‘O God! Protect me from Your punishment on the Day You resurrect Your servants. I die and live by mentioning Your Name.’ (Bukhari, Supplications 7, 8, 16; Muslim, Remembrance 56-59; Abu Dawood, Manners 107)”

When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to wake up from sleep, he would say the following supplication:

‘Praise and thanks be to God, who has brought us back to life after causing us to die (sleep), and to Him is the gathering in the Hereafter.’

(Bukhari, Supplications 7-8; Muslim, Remembrance 59)”
