When the Messenger of God puts on a new garment, he prays as follows:

“O God! Praise is exclusively Yours. You have clothed me in this. I ask You for the goodness of this garment and the goodness for which it was made.”

“I seek refuge in You from the evil of this garment and the evil for which it was made.”

“All praise is due to God, who has allowed me to cover my private parts and beautify myself in this garment throughout my life.”

“All praise is due to God, who, without any power or might from me, has clothed me in this garment and provided it to me as sustenance.”

When the Messenger of God went to the market, he prayed as follows:

“There is no deity but God. He is One. He has no partner. The dominion and praise belong to Him. He gives life, and He causes death. He is Ever-Living, and He never dies. Goodness is in His hands, and He is All-Powerful over everything.”

“In the name of God, O God! I seek goodness from You for this market and what is within it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this market and what is within it.”

“O God! I seek refuge in You from swearing falsely and engaging in harmful transactions in this market.”

“There is no deity but God. He is One. He has no partner. The dominion and praise belong to Him. He gives life, and He causes death. He is Ever-Living, and He never dies. Goodness is in His hands, and He is All-Powerful over everything.”
